While the coronavirus pandemic and climate change are inherently different issues, they share two important characteristics: both are global crises that threaten the lives of millions of people. As of Today the number of coronavirus infections approaches 100,000 people worldwide & increasing in India very rapidly.

In continuation to initiative taken by the Maharashtra government to reduce exposure of COVID-19, Suspected should undergo home quarantine for few weeks. These home quarantined people are supposed to stay home / hospital. Unfortunately many of them are not following these guidelines.

New cases of corona infection are not taking the name of prevention.  Meanwhile, tech giant Google has announced a new feature for its popular mobile app Google Maps.  

The new feature of Google Maps is called 'Covid Layer'. According to Google, this feature will show users important information such as the number of Covid-19 cases in an area.

This will help users decide whether or not to go to the area.  Meanwhile, Google will introduce this new feature only for both Android and iOS.

How will the ‘covid layer’ feature work?

Google said in its blog post that users can open Google Maps and view data in it.  For this, they have to tap the Layers button on the top right hand corner of the screen.  After that, they have to click on ‘Covid-19 Info’.  

The feature will show users an average of seven days of new covid cases per 100,000 people for the map they are viewing, and will also have a label to indicate whether coro cases are trending.

Google will collect data of Covid-19 cases from different sources for a relaxed area.  It will include Johns Hopkins, New York Times and Wikipedia.  

These sources receive data from public health organizations such as the World Health Organization, government health ministries, and state and local health agencies and hospitals.

The status of Kovid-19 in the country

The figures for the last 6 days in the country are reassuring.  In the meantime, more people have recovered than in new cases.  On Wednesday, 86,703 infected people were identified while 87,458 patients recovered.  

There are now 9.66 lakh patients undergoing treatment.  The figure was 10.17 lakh on September 17, meaning that 51,000 active cases have been dropped in the last six days.  The highest number of 24,000 active cases was registered on September 12.

So far 57 lakh 30 thousand 184 cases have come in the country.  46 lakh 71 thousand 850 people have recovered while 91 thousand 173 people have died.  1123 people lost their lives on Wednesday.
