National Institute of Technology Warangal is a public technological institute recognized as an institute of national importance by the GOI. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation for the institute on October 10, 1959. It was formerly known as a Regional Engineering College and renamed NIT Warangal in 2002. The NIT Warangal campus is spread over an area of 256 acres. The institute has a dedicated faculty, staff and state-of-the-art infrastructure that promotes a healthy academic environment.

From there, one can take a train or a cab to reach the NIT Warangal campus, which takes around 2.5 hours by road and 2 hours by rail. The nearest railway stations are Kazipet and Warangal. Kazipet railway station is 3kms away, and Warangal railway station is 12kms away from the campus. Many trains pass through Kazipet junction; hence it is the most preferred one.
