Modi government's master plan for 23 new express highways worth Rs 3.3 lakh crore
The Modi government has prepared a master plan to boost the economy. Under this scheme, 23 new express highways will be constructed in the country with a distance of about 7800 km. It will cost around Rs 3.3 lakh crore. The National Highway Authority of India has set a five-year target for completion of this mega project.
There will be many benefits after the completion of the highway mega project
After the completion of the mega project, the movement of vehicles will be easier and faster. Currently a cargo covers a distance of 400 km in 24 hours. Which is about 50 percent less than the global standard. Costs and time will also be reduced by 50 percent after laying the highway. The Delhi-Mumbai, Ahmedabad-Dhaulera, Ambala-Kotputli and Amritsar-Jamnagar expressways are to be completed by March 2023. The other 9 expressways are targeted to be completed by March 2024, according to the status report. 9 Greenfield Highway is targeted to be completed by March 2025.

The major cities of the country will be connected together
With the construction of Expressway, major cities of the country like Surat, Solapur, Lucknow, Vizag, Chennai, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Raipur, Kota, Kharagpur, Siliguri will be directly connected. Will create a company for funding. The company will be formed soon for the 1350 km long Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. All 3.3 lakh crore will be completed through toll collection.
Will be done in other highway projects in the future
NHAI Chairman S.S. Sindhu said if the Toll Operating and Transfer (TH) modus is successful, it will be used in other highway projects in the coming days. Every citizen of the country has to pay an average toll of Rs. 2538 per head.
